Velma L. McBroom, 93 of Evans passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Fairacres Manor Nursing home.

  She was born on October 31, 1918 in Willard, Kansas to John and Mame (Scofield) Smelser.    

Velma graduated from Burlingame High School in Burlingame, Kansas in 1936.  She worked for the Kansas Department of Revenue for 17 years until her retirement.

She will be remembered for her enduring love and support  of her family.

Her survivors include her husband, George McBroom; 2 sons, Lee and Larry Seastrom; 6 grandchildren, Tonya Mills, Tracy Wildey, and Amanda, Stacey, Michael and David Seastrom and 5 great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Carolyn Seastrom; a son, John Seastrom; a sister, Erma Jackson and a brother, Marvin Smelser.  

  Velma will be deeply missed and always remain in our memories as a kind , strong and compassionate mother and grandmother.

  Private family services will be held.
