Kathleen Anne "Kathi" Hill Obituary

In loving memory of Kathleen Anne Hill, affectionately known to many as "Kathi Hill," whose remarkable journey began on June 15th, 1946, in Greeley, Colorado, and concluded on October 8th, 2023, in Loveland, Colorado. touched countless lives with her perseverance, intelligence, and boundless love. Her journey was one of ceaseless wonder and achievement. As a child prodigy, Kathi embarked on her musical journey with piano lessons at just five. Her spirit of curiosity and resilience led her to numerous adventures, from summer music camps to babysitting before her family's move to Cheyenne, Wyoming. It was here Kathi's dream to become a lawyer began to blossom. Undeterred by any obstacle, Kathi honed her skills, from debating to mastering the art of typing. She held jobs with maturity beyond her years and was chosen to represent Wyoming for Girls' State in Washington, D.C., where she met members of the Kennedy clan and prominent government figures.

Kathi's ambition drove her to George Washington University, where she juggled academics and a demanding job. Self-driven, she acquired a degree in computer programming and analysis. From the West Coast of the U.S. to the heart of Europe, Kathi's prowess saw her securing positions with renowned organizations like Xerox Corporation and the International Labour Office of the United Nations.

Kathi's leadership roles in her retirement in Eaton, including Eaton Museum Curator, helping with multiple Eaton Days, and especially as the chairwoman for the local democratic party in 2008, showcased her commitment to causes she believed in. Other important affiliations include PTA, PEO, Eaton Area Historical Society, Eaton Pioneer Society, and ILO Staff Union. In addition, Kathi hosted many friends and family in the beautiful Eaton home she restored.

The crown of motherhood was her most radiant role. At 38, she first cradled Justin in her arms, embracing a love so profound, it transformed her essence. The title of "Mom" was not just a role but an evolution of her soul. Six years later, Damien's arrival added another layer to this infinite love. The bond she shared with her sons was nothing short of magical. In their laughter, she found music; in their challenges, she discovered strength; and in their achievements, she revelled with pride. Justin and Damien were not just her children but the very heartbeats that echoed her love, joy, and unwavering commitment. To them, she was not just a guiding star but the universe that promised endless love and protection. Kathi's love story with her sons was one for the ages, a testament to the indomitable spirit of motherhood.

She now joins her beloved brothers, Richard and Glen Hill, and her parents, David and Bonnie Hill, leaving behind her sons, Damien Marandet and Justin Hill-Marandet; her sister, Joan Hill Omansiek; brother, Andy Hill; her cherished grandson, Jonathan Hill-Marandet and step-grandkids Jade-Lynn and James Foster, as well as her nieces and nephews Tim Hill, Karen Pratt, Corey Hill, Brian Pinelli, David Hill, Brandon Hill, and Brittany Becker. Kathi's infectious laughter, wisdom-laden phrases, and undying spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

Let's come together to celebrate her exceptional life on November 12, 2023 at the Eaton Rec Center from 1-4 pm. Her legacy beckons us to live with the same passion, love, and resilience that Kathi embodied every day. Burial will be private.
