Obituary

Kenneth Ray Fleming was born November 16, 1938, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma to Roy and Mattie (Miller) Fleming. He was married to Gwelda Mae Scroggins on December 14, 1957, at the Free Will Baptist Church in Parlier, California.

He lived in Norwalk, California for more than 60 years before moving to Evans, Colorado one year ago. He retired from UPS where he worked as a porter after cutting meat and the end of his finger off at Safeway Stores. His hobbies included fishing off the Belmont pier in California, putting together complicated puzzles and tinkering with anything he could find to do.

He was a faithful, long-time member of the Norwalk Free Will Baptist Church in Norwalk, California where he served on the Board of Trustees and volunteered in many areas of service.
He passed away July 25th, 2022, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 9 days.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Gwelda Fleming, also known as April Mae; two daughters, Diana and her husband David McCullough of Evans, Colorado and Lori and her husband Brad Ransom of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a close nephew Mike Fleming of Inglewood, California; six grandchildren, Brad Ransom II and his wife Karie of Blanchard, Oklahoma; Jonathan Ransom and his wife Carrie of Sulphur, Oklahoma; Joshua Ransom and his wife Tiffany of Tulsa, Oklahoma; David McCullough II and his wife Jessica of Black River, NY; Amy Burroughs and her husband Josh of Evans, Colorado; and Bethany Brent and her husband Braden of Akron, Colorado; 17 great grandchildren- Kayley, Addison, Joslin, and Asher Ransom; Amelia and Elijah McCullough; Cambree, Camryn and Jase Ransom; Micah and Adeyah Burroughs; Kason, Alaina and Noah Brent and Olivia, Caroline and Kinsley Ransom. He is also survived by three sisters, Loneita Bender, Wilma Smith and Linda Goldberg: many nieces, nephews, and other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Mattie Fleming of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; one brother, Bill Fleming of Norwalk, California, 4 sisters, Loraine Heil of Torrington, Wyoming, Laverne Gunther of Fresno, California, Helen Rice of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Christine Allen of Sanger, Texas; and a daughter Patricia Fleming of Norwalk, California.

He will be buried at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, California.
