Felipe "Philip" Fries, 68, of Greeley, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at North Colorado Medical Center.
He was born October 12, 1955, in Dimmitt, Texas to Juan and Juanita (Perez) Frias. Philip's early years of schooling took place in rural Eaton, Colorado. He attended high school in Kersey, Colorado.
He worked driving beet trucks and other produce for local farmers. Ultimately, he was employed by the Great Westen Sugar Factory for over 30 years.
Philip enjoyed riding horses, playing pool with his friends, drinking beer and working on the farm. His family knew him as the "Pickup Truck Man".
He is survived by his brothers, Raymond, Randy (Dorothy) and Rueben Frias, his sisters, Rachel Moralez (Dan Vigeant), Irene (Frank) Martinez, Janie DeMers, Stella (Martin) Rios, Ramona (Benny) Pompa and Margie (John) Moncivias, 22 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, Juan & Juanita Frias.
The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024, with Recitation of the Rosary following at 10:00 a.m. at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Avenue, in Evans, Colorado. A Liturgy of the Word will begin at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral chapel. Interment will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Evans Cemetery.
