Frances Lee Parmelee, age 77, passed away at her home in Greeley, Colorado on April 26, 2023. She was born Oct. 24, 1945, to Harry and Estella Nichols.
Fran's passion in life was for teaching. She was an elementary school teacher for 23 years, touching many lives, teaching at Mountain View Academy, S. Christa McAuliffe Elementary, and West Ridge Academy. She was a director and one of the founders of Mountain View Academy, a blue-ribbon private school (now operating as West Ridge Academy). Before teaching elementary school, she ran an in-home daycare center so she could stay home and raise her own 4 children. Her great joy was to be surrounded by children and help them grow as people. She worked with many children's programs over the years as a teacher, sponsor, counselor, guide. She loved to be involved in Christian and community organizations as well. She was an avid volunteer in activities that she felt were a benefit on this earth and the one to come. She shared her skills in leadership, finance and creativity any time she was asked, and always with excellence. She lived an amazing life and had a lot of interests including playing the piano, scrapbooking (an entire bookshelf of beautifully crafted books) with the support of her genealogy research, crafting and sewing. She was able to fix anything around the house or at the schools she worked at. Most importantly, Fran was a lover of people, young and old. She loved everyone she met and invested in the lives of innumerable people. One of her favorite things to do was to talk about God and the Bible. She shared the joy of the Lord with all the people in her life.
A memorial for family and friends will be held at the Eaton Evangelical Free Church at 11:00 on Saturday the 13th of May.
