Gerald "Jerry" Gramlich, 80, of Loveland, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at his home.
He was born July 31, 1944, in Peoria, Illinois to Edward and Mary (Cotter) Gramlich. He graduated high school from the Spaulding Institute and went on to obtain a master's degree from the Saint Paul Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota where he made many lifelong friends. On June 24, 1978, he married Margie Hagaman (Bordner) at Camp St. Malo in Allenspark, Colorado. For over 40 years they called Longmont their home. In 2017 they moved to Loveland.
Jerry dedicated much of his life as the executive director for Meals on Wheels in Longmont, Colorado, where he made a significant impact on the community. As a member of St. John the Baptist and St. Frances of Assisi churches, he worked with various Catholic charities, embodying the spirit of service.
In his spare time, Jerry found joy in woodworking and tackling home projects. His most notable creations—a stunning bookcase and a beautiful spiral staircase—graced their Longmont home, showcasing his talent and creativity. Beyond his work and hobbies, he cherished the countless good times and lasting memories shared with friends and family at their home, a true gathering place filled with laughter and warmth.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Gramlich of Loveland, Colorado, a son, Michael Todd (Dawn) Hagaman of Keenesburg, Colorado, a daughter, Michelle "Shelly" (Ron) Schumacher of Windsor, Colorado, his twin brother, Terrance "Terry" (Linda) Gramlich, The Villages, Florida, grandchildren, Colton Hagaman, Seth Bott, Ryan and Trent Schumacher, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Gramlich of Peoria, Illinois, and a sister, Eileen Hubert.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 2-5:00 p.m. at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse, The Forge Event Center, 815 14th Street Southwest B100, Loveland, Colorado 80537.
