Obituary

Judith Ann Bennett, 78, of Evans, Colorado passed away January 28, 2023, with family by her side. She was born May 10, 1944, to Dominga (Lopez) Trujillo and adopted at the age of 5 by Facoundo and Juanita (Romero) Benavidez in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Judith graduated from Pierce High School in 1962. She then went on to obtain her bachelor's degree in Bilingual Studies & Elementary Education as well as a master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Northern Colorado.

On July 23, 1966, Judith married the love of her life, Donald Bennett. While residing in Pierce, Colorado and Greeley, Colorado; they raised 3 daughters together, Christine, Alice and Billie.

Judith was a District 6 elementary school teacher for over 33 years, teaching many of those years at Billie Martinez Elementary School, helping out at Dos Rios Elementary as well as substitute teaching at many others. She was a devout Catholic and attended mass regularly at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Judith was also a member of the Greeley Education Association, the Retired Teachers of Northern Colorado, as well as a member of the VFW Auxillary, Post 6624 in Evans. Judith enjoyed crocheting, volunteering at school, and collecting santas and bells, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Judith is survived by her daughters, Christine (Richard) McGill, Alice (Brian) Wilborn, and Billie Bennett, 8 grandchildren, Renea (Joshua) LeGuillon, Rachelle (Derek) LeDoux, Brian Lewis, Jessamyn (Dillon) Hader, Caleb Wilborn, Kyle Wilborn, Donald Bennett, and Tristine Bennett and 6 great grandchildren, Braylon Johnson, Grady LeGuillon, Ruby LeGuillon, Ellie LeDoux, Jacelynn Hader, and Hudson Hader, a son-in-law Jerry (Sherrie) Lewis, and 6 half-brothers/sisters, Dorothy Siska, Linda Karbe, Arthur Rivera, Rose Ann Lafferty, Victoria Trujillo, Anthony Trujillo, and Matthew Trujillo

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Facoundo, her husband, Donald Bennett, her biological mother, Dominga, her 3 sisters, Rachel Duncan, Ruth McDonald, and Betty Allmer, and her 4 brothers, Dale, Johnny, Frank, and Benny Benavidez and 1 half-brother Gerald Trujillo

Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023, with a Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral Service is 11:00 a.m., Friday February 10, 2023, also at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Ave. Evans, Colorado.
