Obituary

Lawrence Leonard Monroe, 86, of Greeley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November12, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 7, 1937, in Worland, Wyoming to Leonard Earl and Alice (Packer) Monroe. He attended Thermopolis High School in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Lawrence went directly from High School to the U.S. Navy where he served 4 years. On November 22, 1959, he married Lois Carole Robinson in Hayden, Colorado. After the military, he went to work in the Oil and Gas Industry where he continued to work until starting his own business, Rocky Mountain Inspection Services, Inc. in 1976 to the present.

Lawrence was a hard-working man who enjoyed his work. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Order and an active Shriner. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he was fishing. He lived for his children and grandchildren, whom he loved very much.

He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Lois, his son, Robert Monroe, his daughter, Alice (Joe) Greene, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Alice Monroe, and his siblings.

Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or the North Colorado Medical Center Burn Unit in Lawrence's name in care of Moser Funeral & Cremation Service, 3501 11th Avenue, Evans, CO 80620.
