Lela Jean Griffin, 86, died on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at her residence at Fairacres Manor in Greeley.

She was born in Ault, Colorado on December 28, 1938, to Henry and Mamie (Lynn) Renfro. She attended school at Pillar of Fire in Greeley, Colorado through middle school. She met the love of her life, Patrick Henry Griffin II, and the two were married on May 1, 1958, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Together they had two children, Patrick H. Griffin III and Leann R. Griffin, whom they loved and cherished.

Lela got her CNA certification and worked at The Villa of Greeley from 1987 until 1996. She also volunteered at Fairacres Manor from 2013-2020 and would eventually live there herself. Prior to that, she spent some years in Benjamin Square in Eaton and many years at the Greely Manor. Her family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at Fairacres who provided excellent care and became her family over the years.

Lela enjoyed regular Bingo nights and loved trying her luck at the slots in Black Hawk. Above all else, she loved spending her time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Griffin II; her parents, Henry and Mamie Renfro; her four sisters; one brother; and one granddaughter, Paisley Hope.

She is survived by her son, Patrick (Penny) Griffin III; her daughter, Leann Griffin (Andre Boyd); and 10 wonderful grandchildren.

A visitation to celebrate Lela's life will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel in Evans, Colorado.
