Betty Joan (Day) Carlson went to her eternal home in heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 19th, 2023.
She was born May 24th, 1933, in Beloit, Kansas to Lloyd & Marie Day. Betty attended elementary and secondary school in Kansas. She was raised on the family farm along with her sister and 2 brothers.
The family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado and she finished her high school years as a Ft Collin's' Lampkin. She was involved in band playing the kettle drums and was also known for singing in the choir. She was involved in a lot of musicals while attending High School. This is when her love for music began. She had a great love for music that remained with her throughout the rest of her life.
After graduation she attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. On returning home to Ft. Collins, she joined her father as a bookkeeper. She attended First Baptist Church where she met the love of her life, Lee Carlson. They were united in marriage on June 11th, 1955.
Lee and Betty moved to the family farm and were blessed with 5 children: Rod, Jani, Cheri, Tim, and Barry. Their lives were spent raising livestock and growing crops. There were many times you could hear singing in the Carlson home. Betty made sure her musical talent was passed down to her 5 children. Betty was a devoted wife, caring mother, and hard worker. She was a homemaker but continued her bookkeeping career at Northern Colorado Agri Business in Eaton part time. Betty attended her family's music and sport activities, supporting her community, and serving on various church boards and committees.
In 1993 Lee and Betty moved to California and then Nevada where Lee worked for the USDA.
After retirement they moved back to their home in Eaton, Colorado to be near family and live out the rest of their lives.
Besides being a faithful wife and amazing mother, one of her greatest joys was singing. She sang in the church choir, weddings, as well as many special events. Even in her later years, as she was in assisted living, her voice was a joy to everyone, including the nurses and residents. The caregivers always commented on moms beautiful singing. We know she is singing praises in heaven today with her family and Savior.

Myers, Florida, Jani (Gary) Bothun of Snelling, California, Cheri (Todd) Garretson of Eaton, Tim (Heidi) of Ault, Barry (Dena) of Windsor, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, one, great, great grandchild, one sister, Charlene Howe of Greeley, one brother Ron Day of Ft.
