Castulo Edward Cervantez, Jr., 82, of Gilcrest passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at his home.
Castulo was born on July 10, 1940, in Junction, Texas, to Castulo and Ramona (Murillo) Cervantez. He grew up in Texas before moving to Greeley, Colorado. He was united in marriage to Ramona Chavarria in 1957 in Greeley. They made their home in Gilcrest for the past 65 years.
Castulo was self employed for many years and has been retired for the last several years.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona of Gilcrest; son, Edward (Deanna) Cervantez of Thornton; daughters, Tina Galindo of Greeley and Ernestine (Chuck) Paulus of Windsor; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Cezar Cervantez of Lubbock, TX; sisters, Idalia Alverez of Lubbock, TX and Edilia Manriquez of Albuquerque, NM; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Castulo Cervantez; mother, Ramona Areallano; sisters, Edelia Hernandez and Elia Ruiz; and son-in-law, Tim Galindo.
A Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 25th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. both at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Platteville. Inurnment will be in the Mizaph Cemetery in Platteville at a later date.
