Joseph Vernon Sellers

November 28, 1933 - May 25, 2022

Joseph Vernon Sellers, 88, of Ault, passed away on May 25, 2022, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Joseph was born in Oskaloosa Missouri November 28, 1933, he later transferred to Burbank Ca. Joseph leaves behind his wife Dixie Lee Sellers, former wife and friend Carolyn Sellers. Sons Ken Sellers and family, Steve Sellers and family, James Parker, and family. Daughters Jenny Garcia and family, Laura Eggers and family, Jolene Nash and family, Mandy Newberg and family, Betsy Finish, and family. Then there are the very special people adopted into our family: Brookyn Faltico, Scott Forsyth, Justin Finish, and Glenn Rachak. I could not list all the grandchildren or great-grandchildren as there are way too many. Let’s not forget our church family as they are very dear to Joe and I. Joseph severed in the Koren war as a mechanic. Upon returning home he had a few odd jobs until he was hired at Pacific Telesis Oct 1955 to Oct 1985. Being only 51 he always bragged that he never worked a day after that. Ha ha! He never stopped; he just didn’t get paid for it. He was one of the main men on the Stop Smoking Program, AA meetings in Ault Co., wore many different hats for the Republican Party, helping Hands for American Cancer Society, the Food Bank, served on the Town Board, and many more that I cannot list them all. No one was expecting or ready for Joseph to pass but, while lying in the hospital getting ready to go home to the Lord, He was still a witness to all that came in contact with him. He handed out his million-dollar bills that contained many scriptures telling of the salvation plan. Joseph will be dearly missed by all the people he touched in life, but we are so heartfelt that he is with the Lord now. Celebration of life will be Sat. the 18th at the High Plains Harvest church 108 1st St Ault Co at 10: 30 am, followed by the 21 gun salute. Refreshments afterwards at the church.
