Alma Lorraine Bayer of Eaton passed away at her son Ken's home November 2, 2022, at the age of 100.
She was born February 27th, 1922, to Maude (Gould) and Roy Hayes in Akron, Colorado. She was one of five children. Lorraine received her elementary and secondary education in Akron where she excelled in school and numerous school activities. She attended classes at CSU and UNC to receive her elementary teaching degree. Her thirty years of teaching included Venango, Nebraska and Eaton, Colorado. She loved the children and teaching.

In 1950 she and her two sons moved to Eaton where she joined the Eaton United Methodist Church. She was active in the church for 71 years. Lorraine was active in the American Legion Auxiliary # 26, Ea-Ado Women's Cub, Eaton Birthday Club and numerous Bible Study Groups. Her hobbies included reading, embroidery, and reading her Bible. Lorraine's passions were her Christian faith, her family and home and her love of teaching.

She is survived by her sons, Lawrence (Marji) Vance of Molalla, Oregon and Kenneth (Mary) Vance of Eaton, Colorado. Also surviving are four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, two sisters, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, one niece, one nephew, and a great grandson and four husbands.

Although her life had many sorrows, she maintained an optimistic attitude and a friendly smile. The family would like to thank the Hospice Aides, LPNs and nurses for the excellent care during her time of need.
Memorial gifts may be given to the UMW group at the Eaton United Methodist Church to help with Missions. Lorraine was a long- time member of this women's group.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Eaton United Methodist Church, 303 Maple Ave, in Eaton. A private family interment will be held prior to the memorial services at the Eaton Cemetery
