Alyce (Tamura) Shiba, 87, of Loveland, passed away on October 10, 2014. She was born on February 22, 1927, in La Junta, Colorado, to Ihei and Fuji (Kawagoe) Tamura.

On February 7, 1953, Alyce married Frank Shiba. They spent the first decades of their married life farming in Las Animas, CO. Alyce was a devoted wife and mother, and when their children were younger, she spent much of her time involved with their children’s school activities. When their children were older, she spent her time in the work force in the Arkansas Valley sewing western wear clothing. In the late 1970’s when they moved to Greeley, she worked at Kodak and retired in 1991. Her leisure activities including painting, sewing, and various forms of arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family.

Alyce is survived by her son, Gary Shiba of Houston, TX; daughter Sandy (Russ) Anson; three grandchildren, Jason (Blair) Shiba and Bryan Shiba, all of Dallas, TX, and Nicole Anson of Fort Collins; sisters June Yokooji of Denver, Mae Ida of Boulder, and brother George Tamura of Boulder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; brother Tom Tamura; sister, Shizuko Tashiro; and her parents.
