Obituary

Analee Gardner - Kinnison, 85, of Greeley, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Fairacres Manor Nursing Home. She was born Analee McCormick on September 14, 1920 to Grace and Walter McCormick in Olin, Iowa where she grew up. She was the youngest of 8 children. She attended the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Northern Colorado where she earned her B.A. and her M.A.. She taught many children reading, her love for thirty years. She was active in the International Reading Association in Steamboat Springs and Greeley, Colorado and numerous educational organizations. She had children's stories published in We Wisdom, Young and Alive and two unpublished books. Analee was a member of the Greeley Wesleyan Church. She had lived her entire life in either Iowa or Colorado. In 1957 she moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado from Anamosa, Iowa. She moved to Greeley from Steamboat Springs in 1968. She married Robert C. Banks in Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1947. She later married Clarence H. Gardner in Iowa and he preceded her in death in 1968. Analee married Lyonel A. Kinnison on June 30, 1979 in Greeley, Colorado. Survivors include her husband, Lyonel A. Kinnison of Greeley; 3 daughters, Jennifer L. Olsen of Greeley, Julie A. (Matt) Rocha and husband William of Greeley and Jane G. Davis and husband Glenn of Trinidad, Colorado; a son, Richard L. Gardner and wife Lydia of Greeley; a stepdaughter, Lynnette Bristow & husband Larry of Portland, Oregon; 2 step sons, Richard L. Kinnison of Greeley and Randall L. Kinnison and wife Sharlyne of Portland, Oregon; a sister, Ellen Vrooman-Felt of California; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by a son and his wife, Robert C. and Pattie Sue Gardner; 3 brothers and 3 sisters and a son in law, Gregory Matt. A memorial service to celebrate Analee's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2005 at the Greeley Wesleyan Church, 3600 W. 22nd Street. Cremation. Inurnment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to the Greeley Wesleyan Church Building Fund in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
