Obituary

Barry Madison Luster, 62, of Greeley, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at his home in Greeley.
Barry was born on October 20, 1956 to Wamada “Walkie” and Irene (Behrendsen) Luster in Craig, Colorado.
He enjoyed time with his family and friends, often getting a “kick” from conversations and comments made about his piercing blue eyes, wild curly blond hair, and his 6’3” - 231 lb. frame – always simply grinning and replying “Y-e-a-h.” Barry also enjoyed time listening to Rock and Roll music from his collection of nearly 200 albums; relished time on the open road riding his Harley; loved wild women, i.e., Emma; and of course, doted over his beloved daughter, Jennifer. Barry grew up in a motorcycle-riding family. He started riding at a very young age sitting behind his father (Walkie) while younger brother Brad sat behind mom (Irene). Hence, easy to understand his passion for motorcycles. Barry in his teen years also enjoyed dirt bike riding in the mountains as well as mountain climbing with his friends and brother, Brad.
Barry was a graduate of Platte Valley High School (Kersey), played center position in football throughout his high school years. He was a graduate of Construction Trade School (Greeley) and attended School of Mines (Golden) studying carpentry sponsored by Hensel and Phelps.
He had a large collection of action-packed movies and especially favored watching Western movies on TV. He enjoyed being a “grandfather” figure to Mykaila (grandniece) and an uncle to many more nieces/grandnieces and nephews/grandnephews.
Barry is survived by his wife, Emma Baca Luster; his mother, Irene Luster; his brother Brad (Jolene, Leland, Chris, Tom) Luster; his mother-in-law, Erma Baca; a special niece, Richelle Culver; aunt and uncles, Ruth Allmer, Dick and Betty Behrendsen; cousins Theresa and Mike Allmer and Jeff Behrendsen; and additional aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Barry is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Irene Luster; his father, Wamada Madison “Walkie” Luster; and his father-in-law, Joe T. Baca; grandparents: Louie and Margaret Behrendsen, Wiley and Anna Luster; uncles, Henry and Lowell Behrendsen.
