Obituary

On December 15, 1922, in Big Springs, Nebraska, Otto and Ellen Aufrecht had a girl and named her Bertha Louise. She died on January 23, 2012 at the North Colorado Medical Center Hospice Unit and now lives in Heaven with the Lord. Her husband, William E. Beattie preceded her in death in January 2007.
She went to Cottonwood Corners for 1st through 8th grade, high school in 1937, graduated in 1941. After graduation she went to Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. She began teaching in one room school houses during the school year and going to CBC in the summers. She graduated from there in 1947.
On June 6, 1950 she married William E. (Bill) Beattie, they moved to Greeley, Colorado in 1955. To this union were born two sons, William James (Jim) in 1957 and Kenneth Lee Beattie in 1959. When Jim and Ken became school age she went to Colorado State College now University of Northern Colorado from 1966-69. She taught kindergarten at East Memorial from 1969-1983. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Nu sorority,1976-1979, NALC Ladies Auxiliary, 1969-1983 and a member of First Assembly of God Church from 1955-2012.
She is survived by a Sister Eunice Urich of Greeley; sons, Jim of Greeley, Ken and wife Karen of Parker, Colorado. She was blessed also with ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren many special niece's and nephew's and two special women Judyanne and Varsha were like daughters to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ellen Aufrecht and sisters Helen, Lois and Phyllis.
A funeral service to celebrate Bertha's life will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the First Assembly of God, 3000 West 16th Street. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
