Betty Eskew went home to the Lord on August 25, 2015 in Greeley, Colorado. Betty was born May 21, 1920 to George A and Hazel (Windfield) Bent in Burwell, Nebraska. She was raised in DeWitt, Nebraska. As a child, she learned to play the piano, which she did the rest of her life: at Church, at home for enjoyment and years later played for Sing-a-Longs.

Upon graduation for high school in 1938 in DeWitt, Nebraska, she then attended the University of Nebraska where she met the love of her life, Leonard Eskew, while they were both singing in the Church choir in Lincoln. She and Leonard were married July 14, 1941 while Leonard was on leave from the Army. She lived with her parents in DeWitt during World War II while Leonard was stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska for 2 ½ years during the War.

She and Leonard moved to a farm in the Boulder in 1953 where they milked cows, raised chickens and pigs, and Leonard taught their three children, Bonnie, Karen and Richard to ride horses. Throughout her life, she cared for her home and family. She spent many hours over the years sewing and knitting. They moved to a farm west of Windsor in 1959, where Betty worked at the telephone office in Windsor before they went dial, a trade she had learned in DeWitt. For years she was an active member of the Methodist Church in Windsor and Eastern Star chapters in Windsor and in Greeley. Her later years, she led Sing-A- Longs in various Nursing Homes in Windsor and Greeley.

She is survived by her three children, Bonnie (Ric) Currier of Berthoud, Karen (Ray) Hebbert of Eaton and Richard (Mary) Eskew of Colorado Springs), nine grandchildren, Shelley (Geoff) Hills, Shane (Pam) Harsh, Shad (Becky) Harsh, Kevin (Michelle) Miller, Matthew (Jodi) Hebbert, Jennifer (Dustin) Tomme, Elizabeth (Nathan) Godsey, Ricky (Stacey) Eskew and Benjamin (Katie) Hebbert along with 22 great-grandchildren, one brother, George W. Bent (Hilde) of Atlanta Georgia and a nephew Chip Bent from Los Angeles, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Eskew, and infant son Ronald, her parents, George and Hazel Bent and a son-in-law Larry Miller.

A Celebration of her life will be held at the Evangelical Free Church, 1325 3rd St. in Eaton, Colorado on Saturday, August 29th at 1:30 p.m.
