Betty Jean (Cochran) Herring, 95 of Greeley passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center.
She was born on September 11, 1921 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles S. and Faye K. (McDonald) Cochran.
Betty married Edwin J. Herring on October 26, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. He died December 18, 2003.
She graduated from Ottumwa High School, Ottumwa, Iowa. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper and after her marriage to Mr. Herring she became a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing and bridge.
Survivors include her two sons, Edwin J. Herring of Evans and Thomas G. Herring of McLean, Virginia; two grandchildren, Edwin Herring of Arvada and Rebecca Herring of Houston, Texas and two great-grandchildren, Eddie of Arvada and Jovie of Houston. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin J. Herring, her parents, Charles and Faye Cochran and a son, George Herring.
Services will begin with Recitation of Rosary at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 followed by the Liturgy of the Word on Wednesday all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2222 23rd Avenue. Interment will be in Evans Cemetery.
