Betty Ann Merkel 85, of Greeley, died on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Garden Square of Greeley Assisted Living. She was born November 19, 1926 in Nevada, Iowa to Fred and Celia Morise. Betty resided in Des Moines, Iowa until moving to Colorado in 2006. Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn A. Merkel of Greeley and 2 sisters, Margaret Levey of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Mary Skelley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Garden Square of Greeley, 1663 29th Avenue Place in Greeley. Memorial gifts may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, AccentCare of Colorado Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
