Obituary

Bradley A Simmons, 72, of Greeley CO passed away on Sunday, April 9 at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was born August 8, 1950 in Greeley to Dwight and Lorena Simmons. Growing up, he was active in Boy Scouts, Demolay, and the Methodist Church.

His passion for sports began early in his life, lettering in baseball and basketball before graduating from Greeley Central High School in 1968. He met his wife, Sue, a few months later and they were married September 6, 1969. Together, they raised three incredible children. Brad was an electrician for the majority of his career, becoming a master electrician and starting his own company, Simmons Electric, in 1980. His son, Curt, worked closely with him, and after Brad was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 2012, Curt started his own electrical company with much of the wisdom he had gained from his father.

His love of sports was evident his entire life, coaching little league baseball and softball and he was an avid Bronco season ticket holder for 40 years, and loved golf and bowling. He and his wife played bridge for many years becoming a life master, and traveling to several out of state tournaments before his illness. Brad was especially known for his cooking and grilling and loved getting his family together for Sunday dinner, a lifelong tradition.

A big man at 6'5", he had a huge heart, a quiet demeanor with a positive outlook on life. His smile could fill a room. His greatest achievement was the love he had for his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sue, daughter Meredith Taylor (Steven), son Curt Simmons (Amie), daughter Carrie Frost (Spencer), grandchildren Rory, Emma, Elijah, Sophie, Gabi, Corbin and Grayson, and a brother Doug Simmons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Matthew, and twin grandsons Wyatt and Walker.
