Carmen C. Lopez, 95, of Greeley, died on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at her home.
She was born on December 8, 1910 in Michocan, Mexico to Gregorio and Salud (Diaz) Cornejo.
Carmen married Jesus Lopez who is now deceased. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and worked there until her health would no longer allow it. She liked to cook for the church and for weddings. Carmen liked to help everyone who needed her help. She loved crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She lived to see six generations in her family.
Survivors include a son, Phillip Lopez of Greeley; 5 daughters, Connie Jaramillo of Greeley, Gloria Castillo of Greeley, Margret Rodriguez of Evans, Linda Schiedt of Greeley and Vicki Calvillo of Greeley; a brother, Clarence Smiles of Texas and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by 8 sons, 2 daughters, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 6 grandchildren and her lifelong companion, Joe Ramirez.
Recitation of Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd St.. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. today (Tuesday) and from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday both at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel.
