Carol Gene "Grandma" Knudsen, 82, of Severance, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

She was born December 4, 1940, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Kline "Doc" and Marjorie Ruth (Bonner) Sollars. After graduation from high school, Carol began work as a Director of Laundry at Methodist Medical center in St. Joseph Missouri, where she worked for 27 years. She then moved to Colorado and began working in Berthoud, Colorado at a nursing home as Director of Housekeeping where she worked from 1985-1998. From 1998 until the time of her passing, she was the Director of Environmental Services at Life Care Center of Greeley.

Carol enjoyed playing bingo, traveling with her granddaughter, Lindsey, gardening, going to church and loved to work. She had the work ethic and integrity of a saint. She loved to go shopping; she'd always say, "you never know what we'll find today". Carol taught herself many skills she enjoyed doing, such as quilting, painting, pottery, cross stitching. She learned to make all her recipes from scratch. She was well known for her Apple pies. Grandma believed "any worthwhile meal would have a side of potatoes" She also enjoyed reading and putting together puzzles. She greatly loved her family and her Denver Broncos.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Combs, her 5 grandkids, Lindsey (Adam), Andrew (Ashley), Zach (Alicia), Morgan and Isabelle, her 9 great grandkids, Preston, Noah, River, Tymbur, Lia, Brandon, Banxton, Karson and Kyle.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kline Sollars and Marjorie Bonner, and a son, Charles Eugene Pritchett.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Avenue in Evans, Colorado. A reception will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Greeley Country Club, 4500 W. 10th Street in Greeley.
