Obituary

Carole Marie Wilson Carlson, age 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, returned home to her Heavenly Father Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, prayer and song, at Columbine Commons Health and Rehab Facility in Windsor, Colo.

Carole was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Casper, Wyo., to Everett Ivan and Amelia Julia Valdez Wilson.

She attended parochial school in her early years and attended public high school and college. While in college, she met William Albion Carlson III, whom she would later marry.

Carole and Bill married July 26, 1958, in Casper, moving to Greeley, Colo., where they spent the majority of their 39 and 1/2 years of marriage on Carlson family farms. Bill passed away April 3, 1998.

In 1983, after raising her five sons, she was employed as head cashier at Sears Roebuck until 1999, when she retired to become self-employed as a Realtor and to begin Carlson’s Income Tax Service where she was part owner and tax preparer.

She was also key in founding Zac’s Legacy Foundation, along with her son John, after the death of her grandson, Zackery.

She was a faithful member of Abundant Life Fellowship, a non-denominational church.

Carole is survived by her sons, William Everett (Jody) Carlson, Gene Stewart (Denise) Carlson, John Charles Carlson, Michael Dwayne (Michele) Carlson and Christopher Jay (Diane) Carlson; grandchildren, Jacob, Avram and Sarah; Steven (Cori), Gene (Amanda), Christine and Cameron; Courtney, Haley, William and Kelly; Ryan and Kara; several great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by sisters, Mary Pat Perkins and Bobbi (Carl) Tomasini; and several nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Amelia Wilson; husband, Bill Carlson; grandson, Zackery Carlson; sister, Helen Hansen Richlin; sister-in-law, Sonjenne McGechie; brother-in-law, Ed Perkins; and niece, Rogene Anderson Bradley.

Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10, at 10:00 a.m., at Abundant Life Fellowship Church, 1201 4th Avenue in Greeley. At Carole’s request, cremation services have been held under the direction of Moser Funeral Service.
