Carole Marie Rowland, 49, of Greeley, died on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at her home. She was born on October 6, 1956 in Miami, Florida to John A. and Roberta (Hindman) Rowland. Carole grew up and attended schools in Perrine, FL, graduating from high school in 1974. She graduated from Metropolitan State College at Denver, CO with a B.A. Degree in Communications and Recreation. She lived in Greeley, CO since June, 2005. Before moving to Greeley, she worked and traveled throughout the United States and has also lived in England, S. Korea and Canada. She lived in S. Korea for seven years. Carole was a Conversational English Instructor in S. Korea beginning in 1997, working with young children and occasionally with adults. Before moving to Korea, she worked as a Recreation Assistant in Seattle, WA implementing new program activities, coordinating events at a recreation center. While living in Denver, she worked for Chatfield State Park in Littleton and was a Biological Aid at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Research Center and volunteered at the Four Mile Historic Park. While living in Albuquerque, NM, she founded the Virginia Street Clean Up Crew. She had her own consulting firm where she compiled information on articles and current events from volunteer members for the Central New Mexico Audubon Society. She used her consulting skills, as well, for designing and implementing fundraising seminar series for Hawk Watch International. This past year while living in Greeley, she was employed with Right to Read, Antiques at Lincoln Park and Star Tech. Carole attended Westside Baptist Church in Greeley. She enjoyed outdoor activities, including camping, walking on the beach, bike riding and traveling. She loved her two nieces, Christy and Stacey and will be greatly missed by them. She is survived by her father, John Rowland of DeLeon Springs, FL, her brother, James Rowland of Altamonte Springs, FL, two sisters, Marcia Rowland of Apopka, FL, Susan Rowland of Greeley, two nieces, Christina and Stacey Rowland of Greeley, her Aunt Joan and Uncle Don Gathers of PA, Uncle Jim and Aunt June Hindman of England, and Aunt Betty Dickey of VA. She is also survived by several cousins who live out of state and she is also survived by her adopted Korean family, Tae, Liz and Samuel Kim. She is preceded in death by her mother and a brother, David Rowland. A memorial service to celebrate Carole's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Westside Baptist Church, 6260 W. 4th Street in Greeley.
