Carrol P. Wolfe, 89 of Platteville, died on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley. He was born on August 7, 1917 in Lockwood, Missouri to John D. and Louise Anna (Beisner) Wolfe. Carrol married Merle Lamb on January 4, 1941 in Greeley. Shortly after their marriage he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served during WWII from 1941 until 1945. He was a lifetime member of the Platteville V.F.W. and served twice as post commander. Mr. Wolfe farmed in the Platteville area for many years and later worked for Platteville Mill & Elevator. Carrol retired in 1982 from the Town of Platteville. Survivors include his wife, Merle Wolfe of Platteville; a son and his wife, Loyd and Loretta Wolfe of Greeley; 2 granddaughters and their husbands, Kellie & Doug Hudon of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Darla and Jeff DuBry of Ketchikan, Alaska; 3 great grandchildren, Keith Knowles of Ketchikan, Samantha Mills of Albuquerque and Alec DuBry of Ketchikan; and a brother, Walter L. Wolfe of Lockwood, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gordon Wolf in 2005 a sister, Ethel Joiner and 2 brothers, Max Wolfe & Herschel Wolfe. A memorial service to celebrate Carrol's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. His urn was buried in a private family graveside service at the Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville.
