Obituary

Charles Duane Wilson 52, of Eaton passed away Saturday April 23, 2016, surrounded by family and friends at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. Chuck was born to parents Duane A. and Frances E. Wilson on June 3, 1963. He was the fourth generation of Wilsons to call Eaton home. He graduated from Eaton High School in 1981. He married Dannette Brug of Kersey, in 1987. They raised two daughters, Sydney and Molly Wilson in Eaton.

Chuck owned and operated A1 Organics, a family business started by his father that transitioned from a major lamb feeder in Northern Colorado to “Colorado's Leader in Organic Recycling.” He also successfully started and established organic composting operations in Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona. In addition, Chuck led A1 Organics into a successful partnership that established the largest anaerobic digester in North America. His industry leadership was recognized many times including: Colorado Association for Recycling Lifetime Achievement Award; Member, Board of Directors for the US Composting Council, 2014 Winner of Colorado Companies to Watch; 2007 US Composting Council “Composter of the Year.”

Chuck remained an active and proud member within his state, region, industry and the Eaton community. He was preceded in death by his daughter Nicole Marie, his parents Frances E. and Duane A. Wilson. He is survived by his wife Dannette, and daughters Sydney and Molly.

Chuck will be remembered as a loving husband, amazing father, trustworthy friend, and successful hardworking entrepreneur.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Eaton Evangelical Free Church in Eaton with a luncheon to follow. A private interment for family and close friends will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the Memorial. Visitation will be at Moser Funeral Service on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
