Obituary

Chris Wayne Taylor, 64, of Johnstown, Colorado passed away at his home on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

​Chris was born on September 2 ,1960 in Greeley, Colorado. He was the 3rd of 4 children born to George Jr. and Dorothy (Brown) Taylor. He grew up in the town of Hudson, Colorado.

​Chris attended local schools and graduated from Weld Central Jr./Sr. High School in 1978. He worked along side of his Father and Grandfather in their family business, Taylor & Sons Construction. He later worked for Coors Energy Company, The Town of Platteville as the Director of Public Works, Wagner Equipment Rentals and a number of other heavy equipment rental and sales establishments across the Front Range over his career, ending at G4 Construction Equipment

​Following graduation, Chris married his first wife, Kirsty (Goad) Taylor on December 23, 1978. They welcomed their first son Mitchell in 1980 and their second son Mathieu in 1984.

​Chris met his current wife Wendy (Engelmann) Taylor while they both worked at Wagner Equipment Rentals. They married on July 7, 2006. With this union he gained 3 stepsons, Troy, Brad and Mark.
​Chris was a very hard working and fun loving man. Always ready to tell a joke and make someone laugh. He was a man of many skills. He was a master woodworker and loved leather working. He shared his Dad's love of old Ford pickups. He has restored vehicles, made beautiful furniture and many other wood and leather crafted items throughout his life. He enjoyed making special gifts for family and friends that will forever be treasured.

​Chris is survived by his wife Wendy of Johnstown, Colorado. Sons Mitchell of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Mathieu (Megan) of Sterling, Colorado. Stepsons Troy of Lakewood, Colorado, Brad of Johnstown, Colorado and Mark of Broomfield, Colorado. Grandsons Tason and Logan of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Henry of Sterling, Colorado. Sister Tammy (Russ) Archibeque of Greeley, Colorado. An aunt, 3 uncles, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and in-laws.

​He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother of Hudson, Colorado, sister Cindy (Taylor) Grubbs of Hudson, Colorado and brother Gary Taylor of Greeley, Colorado.

​Chris will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

​A celebration of Chris' life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel. 3501 11th Avenue in Evans, Colorado. A reception will follow at the Archibeque family home at 210 40th Avenue in Greeley, Colorado.
