Christine Bartko, 41, of Greeley passed away March 10, 2010 at her home in Greeley. She was born on July 20, 1968 in Kansas City, Kansas to Thomas and Mary Ann Kane. Christine was best known for her work in the Gypsy Horse industry. Her knowledge and experience was instrumental in establishing the Gypsy Horse as a recognized breed around the world. Hundreds of American families have Christine to thank for bringing the Gypsy Horse into their lives. Her dedication to the breed will be forever remembered in the pages of John Hockensmith's book, "Gypsy Horses and the Travelers' Way". Survivors include her mother, Mary Ann Kane of San Diego, California; her son, Thomas Bartko of Rifle, Colorado; her sister, Candi Kane of Monument, Colorado and her brother, John Kane of Linwood, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Kane and a brother, Thomas Kane II. A memorial service to celebrate Christine's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Grace Chapel, 935 Evalena Street, Castle Rock, CO 80108.
