Cindy Willoughby, 65, of McAllen, Texas passed unexpectedly in January of 2023 in Greeley, Colorado. We are devastated by this loss and completely unprepared.
Born in July of 1957 to loving parents, Edna and Guillermo Diaz, Cynthia Leigh Willoughby filled the lives of those around her with joy. Cindy graduated from McAllen High School and then went on to pursue a degree at Texas Tech and Pan American Universities. After college she went on to work for the Edinburg Independent School District where she worked passionately for 30 years and made lifelong friendships there. She retired in 2009.
She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and adored by her family. Cindy was also passionate about animals and always had an open door for the strays that would cross her path. Cindy was a firm believer in her faith. Her presence is sorely missed, and her loss is deeply felt.
Cindy is predeceased by her father Guillermo Diaz. She is survived by James Willoughby (husband), Edna Mae Diaz (mother) both of McAllen, Texas and Kathy (sister) and Lynn Smithey of Greeley, Colorado.
