Clinton Reed Sylvester, Jr., 85 of Evans, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Centennial Health Care in Greeley.
Reed was born May 20, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clint and Violet (Allen) Sylvester. Reed graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. He served in the United States Air Force starting in 1951 and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1952 and from the Air National Guard in 1956. Returning to Salt Lake, he began working for Skaggs Drug. He was transferred to Colorado, where his daughter Karen was born. From there he was transferred to Pocatello, Idaho. On April 19, 1968, he was married to Vera (Barela) Sylvester. While in Pocatello his son Jason was born. In 1977 the family moved to American Falls, Idaho where he was baptized into the Lutheran Church. While in Idaho he began his career in Sales. In 1985 the family moved to Cheyenne, WY then in 1986 to Evans, CO. Reed represented several companies in Wyoming and Colorado and he also owned his own business. Reed loved the outdoors and took every chance he could to fish and hunt waterfowl. In 2005 Reed was thrilled to become a grandfather when his granddaughter Ava was born.
Reed is sadly missed and survived by his wife Vera of Evans, daughter Karen of Midvale, Utah, son Jason and daughter in law Kelly, adored granddaughter Ava of Greeley, sister LaRoyce Forsyth and her husband Bud, a brother Bob and his wife Kay and a sister-in-law Karen all of Utah, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and wonderful neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his father Clint, mother Violet, stepmother Cleo, sister Colleen and her husband Earl, brother Blaine, in-laws E.V. and Rita Barela.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1865 14th Avenue in Greeley.
