Colleen Elizabeth Dotson, 86 of Eaton, died May 18, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society-Bonell Community surrounded by her loved ones. Colleen was born August 8, 1927 in Greeley, CO to Samuel R. Spencer and Ruth Binford Spencer. She graduated from Ault High School. She married Don G. Anderson January 12, 1946. They farmed and fed cattle west of Eaton. She married Robert V. Dotson November 1, 1975. They opened a custom boot making and boot repair business in Greeley. Her joy was her family. She was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She kept up with all their activities even when she was unable to attend all the functions. Colleen lived a life of service to her family, friends, community and church. Music was a constant joy in her life as she played the violin from a young age, sang at church and played the piano. Her ability to craft beautiful items to decorate her home and give to her family and friends was amazing. Colleen is survived by her daughters; Cristie Nicklas and Wray of Grover, Gayle Rossman of Red Feather, daughter in law Barbara Anderson of Eaton, stepchildren Cindy Bullock and Dwayne of Wray CO, Randy Dotson of Greeley, Kristy Davis of Greeley, and Richard Dotson and Renee of Durango, friend Ken Hyde of Greeley, sister Lela Keirnes of Greeley, brother Sam Spencer and wife Joann of Sedalia, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Barry, and grand-daughter Kirsten Anderson. A memorial service to celebrate Colleen's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at the First Congregational Church of Eaton/Ault, 352 2nd Street. Memorial gifts may be made to the First Congregational Church in care of Moser Funeral Service.
