Obituary

Maria Cordelia (Cordie) Lopez of Ft Collins, formerly of Greeley, passed away on April 20, 2007 at the Columbine West Care Center in Ft. Collins.
Cordie was born on April 8, 1924 in Conjilon New Mexico to Paulin Baldonado and Rebecca Maestas Baldonado. She attended school in Canones , New Mexico and received her GED in Greeley in 1966. At the young age of 18 she moved to California and worked at the shipyards in Wilmington, California during WWII. Cordie lived in Trenton, Nebraska for several years then in Greeley where she retired from UNC in 1984.
Cordie is survived by her husband Juan Lopez and daughters Becky (Ben) Bedan and Barbara (Jeff) Pelan. She also has 5 grandchildren: Terri Bedan, Jeff Bedan, Spencer Lopez, Dustin Lopez and Marissa Damian. She also has 5 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by 2 sisters: Mary Delgado of Greeley and Lilia Frakes of Houston, Texas and 1 brother, Paul Baldonado of Fort Scott, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her daughter Ginger Damian and grandson Jason Damian, 2 brothers and 1 sister and her parents.
Mom left us with so many great memories. Her biscochitos and fudge are things we will remember and reminisce about forever. Her family wishes to thank the staff of Columbine Care West and Hospice for their comfort, kindness and dedication while caring for Maria.
A memorial service to celebrate Cordie's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Templo Betel Assembly of God, 600 9th St. (North Lemay) in Ft. Collins. Cremation has taken place. Moser Funeral & Cremation Service in Evans is in charge of arrangements.
