N. Dale Johnson, 85, of Eaton Colorado, passed away Wednesday, October 29th, 2014 at Grace Pointe Rehabilitation Hospital in Greeley.
Dale was born October 5th, 1929 to Harry and Ariel Johnson in Soulsbyville, California. On September 17th, 1966 He Married Sandra L Reasoner.
Dale’s first job was delivering ice for Union Ice Company in Sonora, California. He then moved on to what became some of his favorite memories and passion; working on a logging railroad in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He loved working on steam locomotives. As the era of steam faded Dale began a career in the ready-mix business in Sonora, which he remained in until his retirement in 1996.
Dale always enjoyed time with his family, friends, and pets. He spent his later years taking care of his yard with his pugs in tow. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton. Dale was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Johnson of Eaton; three sons and two daughters and their spouses, Butch (Lynda) Johnson of Sonora, Ca; Doug (Susie) Perry of Columbia, Ca; Steve (Kim) Johnson of Eaton, Co; Kathie (Bruce) Moran of Thompson Falls, Mt; and Debbie (Bruce) Barnett of Chico, Ca; sisters Clariece (Mick) Hamilton of Sonora, Ca and Diana (Damon) Castenholz of Kingman, Az ; 15 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Harriet (Louie) Hubley of Soulsbyville, Ca.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 6th, 2014 at the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton, 1325 3rd St, Eaton.
