David “Dave” Ornelas De La Rosa, 54, of LaSalle, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Poudre Valley Hospital.

He was born March 1, 1965 to Fidel & Theodola (Ornelas) De La Rosa in Morton, Texas. He graduated from Three Way High School in Maple, Texas. On October 20, 1988, he married Brenda Kathleen “Kathy” Carter in Hereford, Texas.

Dave worked as a Welder, but his leisure time was spent fishing and working on cars with his granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Carter De La Rosa, of LaSalle, Co, a son, Bobby Ray Denton, Jr. of LaSalle, CO, a daughter, Amber Shalene Denton of Greeley, CO, his brothers, Sam (Janie) De La Rosa, Johnny De La Rosa and Ben De La Rosa all of Texas, his sisters, Oralia (Raul) Munoz of New Mexico, Virginia (Joe) Honesto of Colorado, 3 grandchildren, Gabrielle, Matthew and Angelina all of Colorado, 9 nephews and 4 nieces.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel & Theodola De La Rosa and a brother, Robert De La Rosa.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Dave & Kathy’s home, 325 Todd Avenue, LaSalle, Colorado.
