DAVID ERIC MINNEY, 36 years young, was born on October 27, 1973 in Torrance, California. He went to live with our Heavenly Father on December 28, 2009 in Evant, Texas The hardest thing a parent will do is to write an obituary for their child. So forgive me if this isn't the way it should be. Eric, as many have known him by, was suddenly taken away from all who loved him. He grew up in the Weld County Area. He was a very loving, happy, and sensitive child with a zest for life. He had a sense of humor that was hard to beat. He loved to make people laugh and had a very contagious laugh. When Eric laughed everyone laughed with him. He played football in High School and graduated from Kersey High. After graduating he developed many talents and interests. He liked learning new jobs which included, welding, roofing, concrete work, cooking, and he also learned to drive a big rig and held a CDL. During his spare time he enjoyed playing guitar, video games, and fishing and was always waiting for the "BIG ONE". To all that knew Eric he was a wonderful man who died protecting the family that he loved very much. He will be sorely missed by all he touched. He cherished his family the most, especially his daughters that will really never know their father for the man he was. He leaves behind two daughters who live with their mother in Louisiana, Victoria 8 and Hailey 5, mothers Kathy Minney of South Dakota, and Ida Plata of Colorado; father, James D. Minney of Colorado, brothers James P. Minney and wife Elizabeth and Joseph Minney both of Colorado, sister Amanda Hirschfeld and husband Adam of South Dakota, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, fiancé, Donna and her children, Felice, Alisha, and Colby. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John and Nora Plata, his fraternal grandfather Paige Minney, and his uncle Bob, his aunt Judy, and his aunt Debbie. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2009 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel (3501 S. 11th Avenue) in Evans Colorado. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2009 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel. After interment at Linn Grove Cemetery there will be a pot luck meal at Stony Brook club house at 435 north 35th Avenue in Greeley, Colorado to comfort each other and celebrate Eric's life. Eric we love you and we'll miss you. There has been a Memorial Fund in Eric's name set up at Wells Fargo bank.
