David Olen Wright, 54 of Greeley, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home.

He was born December 6, 1963 to Jimmy & Betty (Wheeler) Wright in Greeley, Colorado. David graduated from Platte Valley High School in 1983 and then attended Aims Community College for Fire and EMT training. On July 22, 1989, David married Rhonda Wyatt at the Kersey Community Church. David owned and operated Union Colony Protective Services, Inc. David also helped many of the local farmers during corn harvest by driving truck and packing the pits. David worked the Explorer Program with the Greeley & Kersey Police Departments. David served over 2 decades with the Kersey Fire Department as a firefighter and as their chief. David enjoyed family vacations, fishing, and camping, but what David loved most was spending time with his daughters.

David is survived by wife, and 2 daughters, his mother, Betty Wright-Goin, 3 brothers, Harvey, Ronald, and Justin “Jessie” Wright, a son and 1 granddaughter.

David was preceded by his father, Jimmy Wright and his step-father, Donald Goin.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Kersey Community Church, 201 1st Street in Kersey.
