Delbert George McBroom, 84 years-old, of Evans passed away on Saturday, January 4th, 2014 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. George was born on May 26, 1929 in Hereford, Texas to Jack and Mabel (Tucek) McBroom. George was a veteran of the Korean War, serving the US Army. He then worked for the State of Kansas highway maintenance department for 21 years until his retirement. In retirement he was active as a volunteer in the Evans, Colorado community where he volunteered as a school cross guard and routinely volunteered at the Tuesday Evans Senior Center weekly luncheon. He will be remembered for his kindness and love for his family. His survivors include his step son Larry Seastrom; and his grandchildren Tonya Mills, Tracy Wildey, Amanda Seastrom, and Stacey Seastrom. George was preceded in death by wife Velma (Semsler) McBroom and siblings. George and Velma were married for over 40 years. George will greatly be missed, and will always remain in our memories as a kind and patient grandfather. Private family services will be held.
