Delia O. Johnson's Obituary
Delia O. Johnson, 96, of Greeley, formerly of Lakewood, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at Fairacres Manor in Greeley.
Delia was born in Arizona and grew up in Russell Gulch, Colorado. She graduated from Central City High School. Delia then attended the University of Colorado of Nursing, Boulder, and joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during the WWII efforts. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in nursing from CU, a Registered Nurse. She married Orland K. Johnson and was married for 43 years before his death. After retirement, Delia enjoyed traveling, knitting, sewing, reading and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and the Lakewood United Methodist Church.
Delia is survived by her sister, Margaret; three daughters, Karen (Dan), Candace (Rodney), Diane (Dave); eight beloved grandchildren and four beloved great-grandchildren and numerous, wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe (Helen); sister, Alice; and son, Harvey (Gwen).
A memorial service to celebrate Delia's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Lakewood United Methodist Church, 1390 Brentwood Street in Lakewood, Colorado.
