Obituary

Dee Cochrane was born to loving parents, Louise and Warren DeJarnett in the Kansas prairie town of Agricola. However, she grew to young womanhood at the base of the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming in the small town of Big Horn. Delores loved to ride horses, was an excellent seamstress, and loved to dance. As a young seamstress and model, she won the Miss Wyoming “Make it Yourself with Wool” contest and participated in the national competition in Chicago. As for her dancing abilities, she was invited to four proms her senior year; three of which were outside of her town of Big Horn.

After graduating as valedictorian from high school, she attended Hastings College in Nebraska where she met the love of her life, Ladd Cochrane. Dee and Ladd had two children, Carrie and Patrick. Dee was a loving mother and wife during her 64 years of marriage. She was a “stay-at-home” mom until her children were firmly ensconced in school, after which she worked for 10 years as a public school business teacher and for seven years as Human Relations Director at the Greeley engineering firm, NHPQ. She finished her professional career as Associate Dean of Business for Central Community College of Hastings, Nebraska.

During her life, Dee was recognized for her work in various communities. She was elected as president of the State of Wyoming Women’s Club Association and received the Outstanding Service Award at Central Community College. Her community efforts included two terms as president of her local PEO chapter and as president of the Assistance League of Greeley.

Delores Ann passed away peacefully on September 30, 2019 with her loving husband, Ladd at her bedside. Sleep well, pretty lady. You are deserving of God’s reward.
