Dennis A. Rolfe, 83 of Eaton, Colorado, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Meadow View Assisted Living in Greeley. He was born on March 18, 1927 in London, England to Montegue and Rosalund (Bluxom) Rolfe. He was educated in England and earned his degree in Hydraulic and Automotive Engineering. In 1956 he moved to California where he worked as a Rolls Royce mechanic and Service Manager in Pasadena and Los Angeles. Dennis married Janet Sue Mizer on November 15, 1969. The couple moved to Durango, Colorado in 1977 where he worked for PSI Hydraulics/Columbia Chrome. He held several positions including manager. Mr. Rolfe retired in 1995. He was later asked to take the position as the Detail Department Manager for New Country Auto in Durango until he retired in 2005. In California and Durango, he enjoyed skiing, camping, water sports, cars, reading. He was known by his family and friends as a devoted husband, father, and "Gramps". After 30 years in Durango, Dennis and Janet moved to Eaton in 2007. There they became members of the Faith Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Janet Rolfe of Eaton; 2 daughters, Samantha Szura of Durango and Meredith McAllister and husband Robert of Eaton; 4 grandchildren, Ryan, Kobe D, Ellie and Alec . Also surviving, brother, John Rolfe of Essex, England. He is preceded in death by his parents, Montegue and Rosalund Rolfe and in-laws S. Eugene and Eleanor Mizer. A memorial service to celebrate Dennis' life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Christ The King Lutheran Church, (495 Florida Road) in Durango, Colorado.
