Diamantina Mendoza, 59 of Platteville, formerly of Evans, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at her home. She was born on July 14, 1954 in Sinton, Texas to Relles and Maria (Cortinaz) Garza. Diamantina married Jose Mendoza in Greeley. She liked going to flea markets and antique stores with Jose. She enjoyed spending time with her special friend Alexis Hernandez whom she raised since Alexis was an infant. Survivors include her husband Jose Mendoza of Platteville; her son, Sal Mendoza and wife Gloria of Evans; her daughter, Yolanda Garza of San Antonio, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Angel, Selina, Diamond, Effy Jr., Destini, Isaac and Relles; 5 great grandchildren, 5 brothers and 9 sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents, Relles and Maria Garza and 2 brothers. A Visitation will be from 11:00 until 3:00 P.M. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel in Evans. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the Grace Community Church in Johnstown.
