Dianna Kay Pickett, 68 of Greeley, passed away on January 17, 2015 as a result of a traffic accident.
She was born November 28, 1946 in Denver to Gerald and Myrtle (Ratcliff) Pearson. She graduated from Denver West High School in 1964, Parks School of Business in 1965 and the Community College of Aurora in 1986. She was a member of the High School Band, Choir, Pep Club and Usherettes. Dianna married Stanley Earl Pickett on August 17th 1967, they had two children and lived in Denver, and Ventura, California before settling in Aurora, Colorado in 1972. Dianna worked in the library at Yale Elementary School and retired from the City of Aurora in 2008 where she worked as a Librarian. After retirement, Dianna and Stan moved to Greeley to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Dianna enjoyed crafts, reading, working puzzles and spending time with her family. She particularly enjoyed band and choir concerts and didn’t mind braving the weather to watch the marching band perform. She volunteered every Tuesday in the Eaton Elementary School Library, and enjoyed fostering kittens for the Weld County Humane Society.
She is survived by her sister, Sharron Pearson of Greeley, children Matthew & Heather (Vance) Pickett of Eaton, Jeff and Heidi (Hagen) Pickett of Erie, grandchildren Luke, Conner and Caleb Pickett. She is preceded by her parents, Gerald and Myrtle Pearson, husband Stanley Pickett and grandchildren Lauren and Ryan Pickett.
A celebration of Dianna’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Eaton United Methodist Church, 303 Maple Avenue.
