Diego P. Lopez, Jr., 90, of Eaton, Colorado, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026.

He was born on January 3, 1936, in Pearsall, Texas, to Diego P. Lopez, Sr. and Concepcion (Pena) Lopez He grew up and attended schools in the area and then began working after completing the eighth grade. Diego was an electrician by trade and worked in the profession for many years before retiring.

While living in Texas, Diego met Maria Alicia Ortiz. They were married on October 17, 1957, in Lubbock, Texas, and together they started a family. They later divorced. In 1974, Diego moved to Eaton, Colorado, where he fell in love with the area and made his home for the remainder of his life.

Diego was a man of faith and a devoted member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Greeley, Colorado, for many years. He loved his family dearly and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Diego P. Lopez, Sr. and Concepcion (Pena) Lopez; his ex-wife, Maria Alicia Meraz; his brothers, Felix P. Lopez, Romolo P. Lopez, Steve P. Lopez, and Johnny P. Lopez; and a sister, Guadalupe P. Orozco.

Diego is survived by his sons, Diego Lopez, III (Leanna) of Eaton, Roberto Lopez of Eaton, and Tonyo Lopez (Juana) of Longmont; his daughters, Janie Webster (Richard) of Greeley and Diana Aguilera (Angelo) of Greeley; brothers, Joe P. Lopez of Evans and Jesse P. Lopez (Eva) of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Mary P. Stone of El Paso, TX and Yolanda P. Orozco of Evans; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with Recitation of Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Avenue, Evans, CO.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 915 12th Street in Greeley, CO. Burial will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley.
