Dona Creed, 93, of Greeley, died on Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit in Greeley. She was born on May 18, 1912 in Sumner, Illinois to Marion and Susan (Young) Keneipp. Dona attended Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, Illinois through her junior year and she later graduated in 1929 from Mt. Carmel High School in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Following graduation she married Chris Creed in 1930 in Mt. Carmel. He preceded her in death in 1994. She lived in Illinois for 43 years before moving to Vernal, Utah, where she lived for 10 years and managed a motel. She moved to Greeley in 1965 and worked at the Weld County Health Department until her retirement. She was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church. Dona was an avid gardner and enjoyed cooking and she especially loved her family and friends. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Beatrice (Atty) and retired Colonel James Allred of Huntsville, Alabama and Donna & Terry Anderson of Vernal, Utah; two sons, Dr. M. Robert and Judith Creed of Greeley and Jim Creed of Oak Park, Illinois; 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Chris Creed, a daughter and her husband, B. Maxine & Dewane Lomas and a sister, Beulah Hall. A funeral service to celebrate Dona's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Hillside Baptist Church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. this evening (Wednesday) and family will greet friends during visitation from 5:00 Until 7:00 p.m. at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel.
