Obituary

On Friday September 4, 2015, Dona Rae Wolf lost her battle with cancer. She was 76 years old. Dona was born on November 1, 1938 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Raymond Sebald and Marie (Gies) Sebald. She attended Washington Elementary in Sheboygan. In 1946, her family moved to Colorado, settling in the Galeton community. Dona graduated from Galeton High School in 1957.

While a senior in High School, Dona met Robert “Bob” Wolf at a high school football game in Eaton. Dona had found her one true love that night. They were united in marriage on December 26, 1959 in Greeley. They eventually settled in Eaton and lived in the same house for 49 years. They were married for 53 years before Bob went to be with the Lord.

Bob and Dona had two children, Chris (Sally) Wolf of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Shelley (Bruce) Carr of Waxahachie, Texas.

Dona worked for the Eaton Herald, the Greeley Tribune, Eaton Elementary and High School cafeterias and for 23 years at the Checkered Heart in Eaton where she was fondly known as the “donut lady”.

Dona was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ. She especially loved working with the women’s ministries and helping with the annual garage sale.

She is survived by her brother, Tim Sebald, of Greeley, her two children, and seven grandchildren: Aaron (Leanna) Carr of Winston-Salem, NC, Emily Carr of Marietta, GA, Zane Wolf of Missoula, MT, Blake Rowell, Justin Rowell, Jill Rowell and Jacob Rowell of Ft. Collins, CO.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Sebald, mother Marie (Gies) Sebald, husband Robert Wolf and sister, Kathy Tracy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 3815 W. 20th Street in Greeley.
