Obituary

Donald Edward “Bud” Cowden, 59 of Greeley passed away on September 8, 2016 at the Hospice Unit at North Colorado Medical Center.

Bud was born on February 13, 1957 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado to James Donald and Mary LaDean (Jones) Cowden. He was a part of the fourth generation of Cowden family to be raised in the Eagle County area. He later moved to Glenrock, Wyoming where he lived from 1990 until 2001 and he has lived in Greeley since 2010.

Mr. Cowden did not take "no" for an answer when it came to his adventurous nature and the things he loved to do. He had many adventures as a young man, from fast cars to snow-mobiles, four-wheeling, rafting, hunting and fishing in the high country. His close family and friends are testimony to his story-telling abilities in keeping the “whole room laughing in tears” telling of his exploits he shared with friends and family. He will be dearly missed, but let him run in the heavens ahead of us with no limitations.

Survivors include 5 brothers, Jim (Cheryl) Cowden, Bill Cowden, John (Teresa) Cowden, Mike (Doris) Cowden and Fredie (Dawn) Cowden and 4 sisters, Bertha Dilbeck, Bonnie Raner, Sandy McCarthy and Twilla Morgan and multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary La Dean Cowden, his little brother, Danny Duane Cowden; his grandparents, John and Bertha Cowden.

A graveside service to celebrate Bud’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Gypsum, Colorado.
