Donna L. Strain, 86, of Greeley, formerly of Eaton passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2013.
She was born September 15, 1927 at Bridgeport, Nebraska to Everett C. and Eula Means Golden. She attended school in Cheyenne Wyoming and took many classes at Aims to improve her education.
Donna married Willard A. Strain on September 11th, 1966 and lived happily in Eaton until they moved to Greeley in 1997. Willie passed away November 6th, 1997.
Mrs. Strain was employed by Mountain Bell and was a clerk for the University of California. She was last employed by Great Western Sugar in Eaton. After her retirement Donna committed herself to volunteer work for originations including, NCMC, RSVP, and Eaton senior center and Share. Donna loved gardening and particularly taking care of her roses on a daily basis. She also devoted her time to taking care of her grandchildren and loved them dearly. Donna loved traveling with Willie and spending time with special friends in their neighborhood.
Donna is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Bob) Stoffregen, Billie Jo Hill, & Betsy (Glenn) Cobarr, her grandchildren: Matt, Donna, Amanda, Brenda, Paula, Ashley and Staci, 22 great grandchildren, and 11 great -great grandchildren. She is also survived by her adopted family the Tibbetts and a god daughter Jeanette. She is preceded by her husband, Willie, her parents Everett and Eula Golden, her special aunt Hazel, and her little brother and sister, Clayton and Gretchen.
A memorial service to celebrate Donna's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Moser Funeral Home, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans, Co.
