Obituary

Doris Marie Brewster, 99, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Febuary 21, 2026. She was born September 26,1926 in Toledo, Oregon, to James and Ivel Bogue. She was the fifth of seven children. The family eventually settled in South Dakota, where she met and married her first husband, Leo Amos Baker.

Leo and Doris made their home in Big Horn, Wyoming where they raised three sons, Ardell Joe, Leo Amos, and Loren Ray. After Leo’s death, Doris courageously raised her three young boys on her own. Four years later, she married George Brewster of Birney, Montana, where he worked on the family ranch.

Doris, George, and Loren later moved to Longmont, Colorado, where George found employment at IBM. Doris had several jobs throughout her life, including working at a greenhouse, a laundromat, and later at a credit union, where she retired.

After retirement, Doris and George moved to Evans, Colorado. She remained active and energetic, participating in the Senior Olympics. She played softball for the Colorado Peaches. She was a devoted fan of the Colorado Rockies, never missing a game on television. Her love of travel took her to all 50 states.

Doris adored her grandchildren and always made their visits memorable and fun. Troy Brewster, who lived close by, brought her particular joy as she watched him grow up.

As her health declined, Doris and George moved into The Bridge Assisted Living facility, where George later passed away. A few years afterward, Doris moved to Life Care Center.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, and by her sons, Ardell Joe Baker and Loren Ray Baker Brewster.

She is survived by her son, Leo Amos Baker, Jr. of Torrington, Wyoming; daughter-in-law, Alice Baker of Big Horn, Wyoming; grandchildren, Troy Brewster of Weld County, Colorado, Joe Baker of Sheridan, Wyoming, Julie Baker of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jamie Baker of Albuquerque, and Jessica Kukuchka (Dustin) of Gillette, Wyoming; great-grandchildren, Devon Baker and Katie and Joslynn Kukuchka; and great-great-grandchildren, Tim, Evelyn and Aspen Baker.

Doris will be remembered for her strength, resilience, love of family, competitive spirit, and her unwavering enthusiasm for baseball and life.

A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Avenue, Evans, CO 80620.
