Obituary

Doris Eileen Brown, 88 of Eaton, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at her home with her daughter by her side.

She was born on September 1, 1935, in Mound City, Missouri to Ernest and Ruby (Dilts) Elder.

Doris graduated from Mound City High School. She later married Harold Ray Brown in Mound City on October 11, 1952. They later moved to Eaton, Colorado in 1958.

Mrs. Brown worked as a School Bus Driver for School District 6 beginning around 1968. She retired in 1992 as the Manager of Training for bus drivers. Following her retirement from District 6 she worked for the Eaton High School Library and the Eaton Public Library.

She was an avid Broncos fan, and the Kansas City Chiefs were her second team. She also followed the Rockies and Avalanche. She had a love of flowers and flower gardening and reading. Doris also looked forward to her weekly lunches with her good friend Pat Barkey.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Youngs and her husband Dan of Greeley, 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Olivas and husband Joe both of Greeley, Caleb and Erin Brown both of Greeley, Derek Brown and wife Ella of Georgetown, Texas and Caitlin Perez and husband Nick both of Eaton; 6 great grandchildren, Rebecca, Mackenzie and Christian Olivas all of Greeley, Jacob Brown of Greeley, Monica and Oliver Brown Both of Texas and Joseph Sisneros of Eaton; and 2 daughters in law, sharon and Michele Brown. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold R. Brown, 2 sons, Matt and Paul Brown and her brother, Bobby Ray Elder.

A graveside service to celebrate Doris' life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Eaton Cemetery.
